Moved to a new android device and have no backup code for Two step authenticatio

  I have two step authentication set up for wordpress, and moved to a new android phone. I now want to disable and reset up two step authentication on the new phone but I have no backup codes. Please advise.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  For the wordpress app see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/apps/

  For androids you need to inquire over at http://android.forums.wordpress.org/

  If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.org, click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to to those forums.

  Thank you, it is too late to disable two step auth, I have no backup code and that is the only way to do so according to the document linked above.

  I see. Then you will have to use account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and be patient while waiting for Staff to reply to you. After your submit the form Account Recovery Staff will contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.

  Thank you very much. I am able to log in, I can use one time sms codes, but I do want to reset this so it works properly again. Is the only way to proceed with account recovery? Thanks.

  Yes that is the only means we have of account recovery. This cannot be done on a public support forum for privacy reasons.

  I don’t have a definitive answer for you. If you can log in then I assume you can use it.

  May I ask a question? Can we get two step authentication without a smartphone? Can we not get it with a computer?
