Moving Domain
-
I purchased my domain with WordPress.com (pravings.com) and now wish to host it on dreamhost. I´ve installed wordpress onto the domain, and exported all my content, but when I try and access the admin/install side of it to create a new user login I´m unable to.
I can only access the old dashboard, as it was when I was hosting with WordPress.
I´ve registered the nameservers to Dreamhost now – using the manage domain option within WordPress – is this the correct thing to do, or do I need to take other steps?
Thankyou – and sorry – I´m new to this!

You need to go through the installation process first, please see this page.
If you’re having problems with a site not hosted with WordPress.com, we may not be able to help. To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.
You can find support for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress here and here.

I´ve tried that, but I keep receiving this message:
“Nothing Found
Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post.”
I can only assume it´s hosted with WordPress.com, as I purchased the domain through the wordpress.com store.
It says it is all registered correctly with Dreamhost, but when I go to the domain and it´s dashboard, it´s the limited WordPress.com version, instead of the wordpress.org version I´ve installed!

You haven’t installed WordPress yet. It is definitely pointing to your hosting provider, so all you need to do now is visit the domain and finish the installation.
