Moving from a WordPress.org site to hosting with WordPress.com

Hello,
My site is https://www.fciwatermakers.com/. I currently use Digital Ocean to manage my site (infrastructure as a service). I don’t have an in house web-developer and have been experiencing site issues/crashes that are leading me to consider hosting with WordPress.com or looking into another service that offers complete maintenance, troubleshooting, etc. How is wordpress.com hosting when it comes to these aspects? Is there technical support when my site crashes, etc? Would appreciate any advice.

I assume you’re using a custom theme and plugins on your existing site that you’d like to keep on using? In that case you’ll need our Business Plan.
The Business Plan comes with 24/7 live chat and priority email support, and also includes automatic updating of the core WordPress software and real-time site backups. It is very unlikely that your site will crash due to system problems on our end – the only major outage we’ve had in the past two years was recently when a physical fibre line serving one of our data centers was cut – and if your site crashes due to a faulty plugin update we can help you fix it in live chat.
However, we do not provide help with custom coding, and we can only provide limited help with the setup and use of third-party plugins and themes.

We also have a guide on migrating your content to WordPress.com, or once you purchase a plan you can contact live chat support to discuss options around perhaps using a migration plugin to migrate your entire site as-is – those are the only options as we don’t offer FTP access, meaning you won’t be able to upload a full-site backup directly to our servers.
