  Will users who currently access the website via a link (e.g. https://projectmetalmusic.wordpress.com/2018/08/02/shades-of-sorrow-ascension-album-review/) be referred to the page on the hosted website (e.g. https://projectmetalmusic.com/2018/08/02/shades-of-sorrow-ascension-album-review/)?

  Hi there, no if you self-host a site, those coming to your WordPress.com site address will not be automatically redirected, but we do offer a Redirect upgrade that will do just that. You can find out more about that here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/.
