moving hosts and now posts are gone

    Hello! I recently tried to move hosts. I cancelled with Liquid Web and was planning on moving to another one soon. I went to log in to see the posts that I published while I was using liquid web and they are now missing. I should have 946 published posts on http://www.sweetpeaskitchen.com and now when I look at the dashboard they do not come up. Is this because I have not chosen a new host yet? Or did I somehow manage to lose all the posts that I published after I moved to Liquid Web (227 total posts)?

    Also tried to log in to WordPress.org recently to see if the posts would be listed there and I am unable to login into my account with my username and password. When I go to the ‘lost password’ link and put in my WordPress.org username it says that an email has been sent but I never receive it. Does that mean that the site could have been hacked and someone changed the email address?

    The moment you cancelled your hosting account with Liquid Web, they took your site offline and likely deleted all its files from their servers. They’re not going to keep your content online if you’re no longer paying them to do that.

    You should have moved your content before you took the site offline. Your only hope to get the content back now is if Liquid Web still has a backup of your site on their system, so please contact them directly to find out if there’s any way your site can still be restored.

    WordPress.org has nothing to do with your site. WordPress.org is the website where the WordPress community works on the WordPress software. No content from your site has ever been on WordPress.org, and unless you have contributed to that software yourself or have asked a question in their forums in the past, you won’t have an account there. Your admin login details for your site will not let you log in there, and neither will your login details for your WordPress.com account.
