Moving one domain to another

    Hi,

I tried to move one domain to another and taking all of my wordpress data with it. I installed wordpress on my new domain. Then I went to my old site (www.masuc.org/campus) through the settings on the admin panel (settings>general) and changed the URL’s to my new website (www.masuiuc.org). When I did that, the files did not transfer. There’s already one wordpress present there.

Is there anyway to reverse what I did? I want to bring the information from my old site to my new site. I want everything the same, but just with a different domain name.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble. However, masuiuc.org is a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, which we really can’t help with.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

WordPress.org has complete documentation and support sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at http://codex.wordpress.org/ and http://wordpress.org/support/
