Moving wordpress blog from instascribe.com to blog.instascribe.com
-
Hi,
I had purchased WordPress.com Premium upgrade and mapped my main domain instascribe.com to my wordpress blog instascribe.wordpress.com. Now, I want to host the main domain elsewhere and want to point a sudomain blog.instascribe.com to my blog.
But I can’t figure out from where to remove instascribe.com and add blog.instascribe.com to the settings. Help please!
Regards

Doesn’t solve my issue :(
My domain (instascribe.com) is not registered with wordpress.com. It was only mapped to it. I have updated my DNS with my registrar and the main domain is pointing to my new host. That part is fine.
What I want to do is map blog.instascribe.com to my blog. But In the WordPress.com dashboard, it is still mapped to instascribe.com and I can’t “demap” it. So, I am not able to map it to the subdomain.

Hi Jaya,
The domain mapping upgrade for instascribe.com is actually owned by another user on the blog. Only that user can request changes to those existing upgrades. You can check to see who purchased and owns the upgrade under Store > My Upgrades in the blog’s dashboard. (If the upgrade owner posts a reply here with the request, I’d be happy to help with that.)
However, you’re welcome to purchase a new domain mapping upgrade for the subdomain blog.instascribe.com if you’d like. You can follow this guide: Map a Subdomain

Oh – thank you. I think this is the account from which we have purchased the upgrade. Please demap instascribe.com and map blog.instascribe.com Our name servers and domain records are already moved.

Hi Jaya,
Thanks for confirming your request from this account. I updated your domain mapping to the subdomain blog.instascribe.com, so you’re all set with that.
If you’d like, you can set that subdomain as the primary domain on your blog under Store > My Domains in the blog’s dashboard.
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)
