mp3 doesn’t play

I inserted an mp3 in my blog and it shows up but doesn’t play. when you click it it says “file not found”. I just uploaded them, does it take time for them to become available or is their something else I need to do.

No, it doesn’t take time. But I don’t see an audio player anywhere on your front page: please link or point to the post or page in question.

it’s at the top of the page under Songs: Baptists & Bootleggers the address is: http://davidmichael.wordpress.com/lyric-baptists-and-bootleggers/ you’ll ee two player widgets. When I click them, I get file not found.

I tried a couple of things and discovered if I remove the “audio” part of the insert I get just the url address for the file and then it plays on my media player, but I would like to have it play on the embedded player. Obviously the file is up there but the player won’t get to it. It seems that it’s not sending anything to the web because my modem shows no signal when I click it. Do I need to turn the widget on or something?

Yes the files are there. No you don’t need a widget or anything. I checked the source code of your page: your problem is that you pasted the audio player shortcode in the visual instead of the html editor.
If you paste the shortcode in the visual editor, you must make sure the URL doesn’t become a live link (blue); if it does, you must highlight it and click the Unlink button. In the html editor you don’t run that risk.
