multi user site

Hi
Many thanks in advance for answering this question
Can this be done with with the new WordPress?
If i owned the site http://www.mysitehere.com
Can I create separate sites that have their own login areas but that exist on what appears to be internal pages? For example;
http://www.mysitehere.com/space1
http://www.mysitehere.com/space2
So could i enable someone to own for e.g “space1” which then allows them to edit it etc and someone else access to “space2” and so on?
Is this what the new WordpPress 3.0 allows?
Also if each page got links back are they seen as individual sites or would the whole site benefit from all the links?
Thankyou!
Mike

The blog linked to your wordpress.com username is a free wordpress.com blog being free hosted by wordpress.com. Is that the blog you are asking about or not?

With the new version of wordpress that is coming out, 3.0, you will be able to set up a blog as either a single-user or multi-user platform, but you would have to do that by hosting it on a third-party hosting service such as godaddy or bluehost, etc.
But, to get all the information, you really need to be looking around over at http://wordpress.ORG/ since that is where the self-hosted wordpress software is distributed and supported.

We do not provide support here at wordpress.COM for those who run wordpress.ORG software on their own servers. You must get support from http://wordpress.ORG/support/
