My blog address was changed and needs to be updated on search results

    I changed my blog address 2 weeks ago, but the old one still appears in google search. The new address has yet to appear. The old result is inactive and doesn’t redirect to the new site. I have to personally link it on another page, currently. How can this be corrected?

    Hi there,

    This is normal. It will take a few weeks for search engines to re-index your site at the new address, and until this process completes, your old address will still appear in search results.

    To speed up the process, make sure you post regularly, at least two or three times a week – each time you publish a post we ping search engines to come index your site. If you haven’t already, also verify your new address in Google Search Console to indicate to them that’s the authoritative address for your site:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/

    The old result is inactive and doesn’t redirect to the new site.

    If it’s been fewer than 30 days, we can still restore the old address to your account. Then you can add the Site Redirect upgrade to redirect traffic to your new address:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/

    Please confirm the old URL if you want us to restore it.
