My blog is displaying keys showing (ie) F1, F2, F39 etc.

Function keys are displaying as F1, F2, F39 etc. How can I change this? As displaying I cannot understand what the keys are for

I’m not exactly sure what you mean. Where are you seeing your function keys displayed? Is this only happening on WordPress.com sites? Or only on your own site?
Can you send me a screenshot ? You can just upload it to your media library and I’ll be able to access it there!

@shawnajroberts…Thank you Shawna. Some of the technical terms escape me. I have uploaded a screenshot into my Media library. The unknown characters show primarily on my WordPress editor when creating new posts as evident in the screenshot.
When in ‘Text’ mode much of the odd characters along the toolbar change back to text on the buttons but several remain unchanged in various locations in the editor. This issue may be particular to Firefox, my primary browser. I resolved this problem before but cannot recall how. I do not see these unfamiliar characters when using Chrome.

Thanks for that image! It looks like our icons aren’t displaying correctly for you.
Can you check the type of encoding that your browser is using? In Firefox you can find this by going to View > Character Encoding.

@shawnaroberts…I am currently using Firefox Beta. I can’t even find ‘View’.
When using Google Chrome I do not have this issue at all, everything is normal, readable.

Unfortunately, we only support the most recent stable releases of browsers. Because beta versions are changing so often and can have bugs unrelated to actual sites, we are unable to guarantee that our site will display correctly when you’re using a beta browser.
You should contact the Firefox Beta group or forum about this issue as it is likely a bug with the browser!
