  I was looking to see if I could use WordPress for our school newspaper. Can my students have access to this site so that they can create and add pictures and articles for me to review and then publish for our school?

  Hello there,

  That’s possible – each student would need to have a WordPress.com account and I would recommend adding them as an editor or a contributor as detailed here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/

  No purchases would be necessary by the students.
