why is my domain without www

I should be clear that I upgraded, and it said it was upgrading my domain to http://www.feminainvicta.com
But it only appears as feminainvicta.com
I need to understand the implications of this, and if I can change it.

WordPress.com always redirects the www subdomain to the non-www version. Because of this, you can still use www version of your custom domain on your signature or business cards if you’d like.
