My domain transfers are being denied

  Hi,

  I want to transfer one of my domains to another registar. I’ve followed the manual and tried several times. Everytime WordPress’s sites sent a ‘transfer denied’ to the new registar.

  What do I need to do to transfer this domain?

  How long has it been since the domain was registered? If less than 60 days, it cannot be transferred. That isn’t a wordpress rule, that is an ICANN rule (the internet naming people).

  Hi,

  Thanks for the reply.

  I have the domain for about a year now. So the 60 days rule does not apply.
  I have followed those instructions.

  I have unlocked my domain, but the domain does not show up in the pending transfer list.

  Do you have any tips?

  From the help page thesacredpath mentioned:

  A domain with a private registration cannot be transferred. If you wish to transfer a privately registered domain, you will first need to unsubscribe the private registration.

  Have you removed private registration from the domain you’re trying to transfer? If you did and you’re still having trouble, please let us know the domain name.

  Hi,

  Thanks for the replies!

  I see in my overview that privacy is ‘on’, however when I click on the manage button next to it the page reloads and nothing changes..

  How can I set privacy off if that button doesn’t work.

  I tried it on Safari, Firefox and Chrome..

  I can manually remove the Privacy for you. Just to confirm, were you transferring both socialinnovator.net and socialsafari.org?

  Hi Macmanx,

  That did the trick. My transfer-request is now pending.

  Why wasn’t I able to change the privacy settings myself? I there a ticket system where I can report that as a bug?

  I’m not staff, but I suspect that’s for Drama-Reduction reasons. If someone got into your blog, taking privacy off would be one way to mess with you.

  I’m not sure why it didn’t work for you. It should have, but at least it’s been disabled now.
