my edit ‘button’ has disappeared

    For years, I have had a simple way to edit my pages. The word ‘edit’ was at the foot of each page (in Microsoft Edge browser). All I did was click on it and off I went. I am not very good with this sort of thing, so I was pleased with its simplicity. Someone else set this up for me. Now I have an instruction on the home page to ‘Click the Edit link to make changes to this page or add another page’. Where and what is the ‘Edit link’? Any other advice please, in plain English.
