  when I set this up I put an old email address as my contact email adress. I can’t remember the password for the old account. The CORRECT email address should be
  (email visible only to moderators and staff).

  Can you re send the activation email to this address

  Update your account email with the correct address at https://wordpress.com/me/account/

  Once you do that we’ll send a new verification email to the new email address.
