My email address to log in suddenly doesn’t exist?
-
My website is uclappliedlinguistics.wordpress.com and the email address used to log in is (email visible only to moderators and staff) – I know this for sure. When I couldn’t get in today (receiving error messages that my email address doesn’t exist), I tried creating a new account, thinking I could access it that way. It didn’t work. Please help!

That is definitely not the email address on the account which owns that site, especially because it’s the email address on the account you’re currently logged in to, and we only allow one account per email address.
We have some additional options for you at https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form

I somehow (I really don’t understand how this happened) got into the original account and I discovered that one of my colleagues must have gone in and changed the email address to her own. I’ve since managed to switch email addresses around (removing it from the new account I opened and then applying it to this one). So all is well!
So, I don’t know what I could have done if I hadn’t somehow miraculously got into the original account – I had clicked on a WordPress contact support link, and it opened up in that account, showing the changed email address. So strange…
