my follower numbers

  Hi there, I hope you can help. I’ve discovered that the bulk of my followers is through the social media category and this number is included in my public visual follower number on my blog. Can I class this inclusion as valid? Are they really followers as such?

  Hi Lynne,

  That’s correct, the follower number on the “Follow Blog via Email” widget is a combination of WordPress.com followers and those on connected social media accounts:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/followers/#social-media-followers

  Those people are listed as followers because they will see the post links shared on that social media service.
