my front page is set to most recent post, but is not showing most recent post

  My latest post did not appear on my front page, as I have set in my settings. Instead it appeared at the top, along with 2 other posts that ALWAYS are up there that I do not want to show.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  That section at the top of the front page is the featured content section — it’s part of the Twenty Fourteen theme you’re using. Any posts tagged with your featured content tag will be added to that section.

  To change that, you can open your site’s Customizer and head to the Featured Content section there. Under “Tag name” you can delete the tag there to remove that section from your site. (Be sure to click the “Save” button to save your changes when you’re done.)
