My media library will not upload new pictures

  My media library does not upload new pictures. They glitch and never load. I have a photography blog with many portfolios already, it used to work just fine.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  Do you get a specific error message when you try to upload new pictures? Please describe the exact steps you’re using to try to upload them, before you run into problems with it.

  Also, please take a look at our Troubleshooting Images page and the tips for uploading images there.

  Thank you!
  These are the steps I go through:
  – I go on wp-admin and click on “portfolio”
  – I go on the portfolio I want to upload pictures on
  – I click on “add media”
  – I click on “upload files”
  – I choose a picture but it never loads completely and doesn’t show up anywhere. I end up closing the page and when I go on again it’s like nothing ever happened.

  I never get any kind of error message. It really stopped working all of a sudden because I’ve uploaded pictures on this blog before and it was all fine.

  Thanks for describing those steps. :) Does that happen no matter what picture you try to upload? For example, can you try uploading a very small file and see if you have the same problem?

  Okay, I just tried. It uploads small photobooth images but none from my iPhoto

  Ah, ok. Can you try dragging and dropping the image from iPhoto to your desktop, and then uploading it from there?

  That worked! It uploads very slowly though- but it works :)

  Great! Thanks for letting me know. :)

  Apple made some changes to iPhoto recently, and as a result you can’t directly upload photos from iPhoto to places like WordPress.com sites. Moving the photos to your desktop (or another folder on your computer) should continue to work, though — and if you run into trouble with it again, please let us know!

  I am almost at capacity for my media library. I don’t need to keep the photos in my media library as some are from very old posts. If I delete them out of the media library, does that also delete the blog post they are in, or just the image in the blog post? Or does it affect the posted blog at all?

  Hi mbmphotography, if you delete images from your media library, that deletes them from any blog posts or pages those images are being used in. It won’t delete the blog post itself — you’ll just see a broken image in each post that used that image.
