My new site has accidentally been set up under my existing site.

  I have tried to transfer the new site to its own user name and its own email address but I get a message to say that theat username and email are not wordpress accounts.

  The site I need help with is hallgreenart.wordpress.com.

  What is the URL of the site you’re trying to transfer, and the username you’re trying to transfer it to?

  The site I’m trying to transfer is https://hallgreenart.wordpress.com/.
  When asked for username I entered hallgreenart.wordpress.com (as the username I want the site transferred to).
  I also tried the email address which is (email visible only to moderators and staff).

  Ok, hallgreenart.wordpress.com is a site address, not a username, that’s why that won’t work.

  We also don’t have any usernames under the email address you posted.

  You’ll need to do it in this order:

  1. Log out of WordPress.com from https://wordpress.com/me

  2. Create a new WordPress.com account with the email address you shared here.

  3. Repeat step 1.

  4. Finally, log back in to WordPress.com as birminghamembroideryandtextileart and follow the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/
