I haven’t used my old website for well over a year, yet I get a great many emails from you which say that this website has ‘new user registration’ in someone else’s name. This has happened for months. I no longer want the website, but why is it continually transferred to many other people? I own the website: , which uses wordpress, hosted by godaddy.com… Please remove me from any further emails and don’t allow new users to use my domain. Thank you.

That’s describing the open source WordPress.org software. The site that you’ve mentioned to us is hosted by us on WordPress.com though.
Now I’m wondering if the emails are coming from your WordPress installation instead of us. There is a setting over there that you can change to stop the notifications. Let me see if I can find it. Hang tight.

That setting can be turned off from Settings > General
