My post falls under the wrong page
-
Kindly help, please!
Any time I make a post, it falls under the wrong page. For instance, I have 5 pages when I create a new post it doesn’t fall on the particular page I want, it falls under another page entirely.
I have checked the categories and tags I want, but I keep receiving the same error. -
Hi there,
Can you give me an example? Which post have you published and got assigned the wrong category or tag?
-
For example, I have 5 different pages (menu bar), page 1 – tiled poems, Page 2- Articles, Page 3 – Short stories …
I created categories ( poems, articles, short stories…)
After typing (a post), under the category section, I checked/ticked the box I want the post under, e,g Articles, also type in my tags, but when I publish the post, it will go under poem page or short stories page, or even under articles and poems at the same time.
How can I correct this, please?

Pages are a form of content, like Posts, so they cannot contain posts.
Instead, Categories have their own archive pages, like https://theseekers2020.wordpress.com/category/bible-study/
So, make sure that you categorize the Posts as desired, then place those Categories in the menu instead of the Pages: https://wordpress.com/support/menus/

Hi,
Thank you for your response.
The pages I created earlier, i.e, page 1 – tiled poems, Page 2- Articles, Page 3 – Short stories …, I want them to be the post-page under each category in a menu, so when a reader clicks any category on the menu bar, it serves as a static page.
The error now is that I have my categories correctly placed, but clicking on any of the categories (in the menu bar) my post pages are not showing, it just shows a default page, which I am not even able to edit.
I want my pages under each category(menu bar)
Thank you

Category pages are not static pages, and you can’t edit them directly.
Category pager are what’s known as dynamic pages, or archive pages, and they only display posts that are published within a particular category.
Nothing is showing at https://theseekers2020.wordpress.com/category/poems/ and https://theseekers2020.wordpress.com/category/christian-short-stories/, because you don’t yet have a post published under those categories.
You have one post published under Articles, and two under Children and Teens, and I can see those correctly displayed at https://theseekers2020.wordpress.com/category/articles/ and https://theseekers2020.wordpress.com/category/children-and-teens/ respectively.
Once you publish more posts and add the various categories to them, they will automatically appear on their respective category pages, with the most recent one always appearing first.

Okay, thank you.
Meaning, I can’t have a page like this (https://theseekers2020.wordpress.com/articles/?frame-nonce=5940df2f7d )under each category with my post appearing under it?, I will just have my post directly like this (https://theseekers2020.wordpress.com/category/children-and-teens/).

I will just have my post directly like this (https://theseekers2020.wordpress.com/category/children-and-teens/).
Yes, this is how they’ll look like.
