My post vanishes without a trace after saving a draft
-
I wrote what I thought was a simple blog. I embedded a YouTube video, one pic, one link to a external pic, and a few Internet links. When I save my draft, the entire post vanishes without a trace. Zero trace. Nothing I can “paste” back into the editor. No “trash” to restore. Like the entire 3 hrs I spend writing never happened. Nothing on the Visual Editor, nothing in the Text Editor. The only bit of text which does not vanish is the post Title. I write on a Mac running OS X 10.7.5, using Firefox 19.0.2. My blog is hosted by WordPress.

I see one drafted post at https://constantgeography.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1677&action=edit . It had content in the post revision so I restored it for you.

Thank you! You truly engineered happiness by restoring my draft. About 50% of the piece was restored, the clever bits, thankfully, but that is far better than 0.00%.
I’m not sure why this occurred, though. I’ve embedded PNGs and JPEGs before, and YouTube videos. And, I have some posts with captioned images. The one new element involved using an embedded URL to link to an image on another web site. The post pointed to an image in an online hobby catalog. In the Text Editor, I noticed the region devoted to the embedded URL link was enormous. I had to scroll a considerable distance before I could get past the embed code to find the next paragraph text for my post. I suspect the embedded URL was the culprit, though not sure.
Thanks again for the restore!
