My readers can't access my private blog easily

  • Unknown's avatar

I have my blog set up private. I have sent invitations to my readers. I have to give them my ID and password because they could not access the blog other way. And even with my ID and password some can’t access it. All of them told me that they needed to set an account and many do not want to do that. Is there a more simple way to give them access to the blog? Thanks, Beatriz

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Beatriz,

When you have a private blog, your blog’s readers have to have WordPress.com accounts. That’s how WordPress.com verifies that they have permission to view it. (Please do not give out your username and password to other people — that puts your account at risk. Someone who can log in to your account has full power to delete content or even permanently delete your entire blog.)

If you don’t want your readers to have to create and log in to WordPress.com accounts, you can password-protect your blog posts, instead. That way, anyone with the password can view the post. You can either use the same password for all of your posts or use a unique password for each post to control who can access each one individually.
