My site is gone!

  Since 2008, I’ve had a WordPress site. Now it’s completely gone. Hosting is still pointing in the same direction and it shows that everything is ok on that end. When I log into my account, is says I do not even have a site! How do I get actually support from the people who operate WordPress instead of just a forum of customers?

  It looks your site is hosted elsewhere and is using the open source wordpress.org. If your site isn’t connected to your wordpress.com account, it’s logical you don’t see it under ‘My sites’.
  Normally you must have access at your site through something e.g. http://www.sitename.com/wp-admin/

  To add to what @staartmees said and to avoid any further confusion, there is WordPress.com and WordPress.org, and they are two different entities.

  We, WordPress.com, are a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites, whereas WordPress.org is stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting.
