Hi My site is too big to back up using the Export feature.
I need WordPress to do it for me (it’s about 5 .xls documents) yet there is no place to request this.

Hi there,
Here is the link to similar thread: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/exporting-is-limited?replies=4
In this staff mentioned that there is no size limit on exporting from WordPress.com. When you went to export the site, did you do so from the site dashboard (My Sites –>Settings–>Export).
I’ve added “modlook” tag in sidebar for staff assistance. Staff will soon help you.
I am assuming you haven’t tried importing & you want staff to perform those steps for you.
If you have tried importing then please answer the following questions which staff asked in that similar thread to assist you better:
1. What is your site URL?
2. The export folder should have contained several .xml files, did you import them one after the other, once the previous file had finished?
3. Are you seeing any error messages when exporting?
4. Are you importing into one of your Jetpack connected sites? Thanks.

Hello there,
1. The site in question appears to be a mature site hosted here on WordPressdotcom, which is why it is not visible in this public forum. However, Staff can see that information, so it is not necessary to post it here.
2. If your site has a lot of content, when you export it, you should receive an email with a link to download the zip file with the XML file or files. Please also see: https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
3 and 4 as @tarunvijwani mentioned above.

@bunyanth also mentioning that if you have any kind of paid upgrade here on WordPressdotcom you are also eligible to receive assistance directly from Support by live chat or email when you post through the dashboard contact form at https://wordpress.com/help/contact

Hi there,
What do you mean it’s too big? Are you getting an error when you try to export? Your site only has about 1300 posts, which shouldn’t be a problem for our exporter at all.
Our exporter automatically creates multiple export files in the case of sites with a lot of content, and we then email you a link where you can download a zipped folder containing all the files.
What might cause problems is the fact that you have hundreds of tags and categories added to each post. That greatly inflates the size of the export file. You should only use tags and categories that are most relevant to a particular post, and we recommend a maximum of 15 tags and categories combined per post.
You also have over 1000 unapproved comments in the comments folder. That can also inflate an export file.
That said, I ran a test export on your site at https://{site address}/wp-admin/export.php?type=export and it completed without any problems, so there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to do it as well. You will most likely have trouble trying to import those files to a new site due to the factors I mentioned above, though.
Please note that the XML file is not a true backup, as it doesn’t contain any images, only links to where they are stored in the media library. Media files are transferred at the time that you import the file to a different site.

Ooh that seems to work fine thank you :)
Last time I had to use chat and ask for help from someone to export as back up because it didn’t work, but now it seems to be working fine.
Sorry for being stupid!

It’s possible last time you did this we didn’t have this process in place yet. No need to apologise :)
