my site stats have disappeared after changing wordpress.com username

  • Unknown's avatar

After changing my wordpress.com username, the site stats on my wordpress site antonkusters.com dashboard have gone missing, and count seems to start all over again (because I had to disconnect and re-connect due to the changed wordpress.com username)

Any assistance as to how to get my entire stat history back would be greatly appreciated….

    cheers, anton

Changing the username won’t affect Jetpack. Did you perhaps had a different domain before? because antonkusters.com has been connected since today.

Can you also please try clearing out your cache?

    Dear kardotim,

thanks for you reply… antonkusters.com has been connected for several years to my forksteel.wordpress.com account and has always worked flawlessly

only yesterday, when i changed my username from “forksteel” to “antonkusters” (and also the wordpress.com url from forksteel.wordpress.com to antonkusters.wordpress.com), my jetpack on my wordpress dashboard at antonkusters.com lost it connection – which I can totally understand.

upon reconnecting (with the new username) everything went blank. the stars function normally, but it is as if antonkusters.com is a totally new site that has never been connected before yesterday… which is of course not the case.

Strangely enough, other websites that are connected to my jetpack account, and which i did *not* update the jetpack credentials in the respective dashboards, still function normally.

I have cleared cache and accesed from multiple machines and browsers, but i can see the stats now as if they only started yesterday, and necer existed before.

    thanks for your help!

    UPDATE

when npw I look at my wordpress.com dashboard, and I can choose which site stats to see, I can see a site called “localhost/antonkusters/” in the drop down menu, where all my real/previous antonkusters.com stats are visible

So this is partially good news, previous stats are not lost, it seems they are just not connected anymore.

Instead there another *new* site present on this dashboard called “antonkusters.com” that is connected to my antonkusters.com site.

In some way, these two should be combined together into one in some way as they are dealing with the same site.

hope this helps to solve the problem….

Thank you so much for your help so far!

    cheers, anton

    UPDATE 2

The interference might be coming from my local MAMP installation.

However, on this installation, my local copy of antonkusters.com is NOT connected to Jetpack

I have disabled MAMP and refreshed all but to no avail.

    Hope this helps too…

I see there were two connections for http://www.antonkusters.com, I removed one and kept the one with all your stats. Please check again to see if you see the correct stats now.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Dear kardotim,

thanks for your help… the stats show up correctly now on the wordpress.com dashboard,

    however,

they still show up incorrectly on my own antonkusters.com dashboard

I disconnected Jetpack, reconnected etc several times, and it seems to make no difference.

so at this point my antonkusters.com dashboard is still connected to the “new” stats (the ones you just removed from the wordpress.com dashboard)

    any thoughts?

    cheers, a

Yes, I see the “new” stats connection. Could you please reactivate Jetpack and try it once again?

    dear kardotim,

all functions perfectly now. Thank you so much for your assistance!

Is there anything I should know/do to avoid this happening in the future?

    Thank you again,

  • This appears to have been just a temporary glitch, so hopefully it won’t happen again.
