My site’s domain recently expired, though I got no notification from WordPress so my site is totally down. It says to contact support to fix this.

I had my card information stored and it was on auto renew so the only thing I can think of is that the card expired since I recently got an updated card with the same number. Any way my site is down now, I just want to pay for the domain again so I can get things back up and running
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Your domain metalarcade.net is being held by our domain registry partner and I will need to reach out to them to retrieve the domain. It will soon go into redemption if it isn’t already:
The charge is a $80 late renewal fee in addition to the $18 we charge to renew the domain. Please confirm here if you agree to pay the fees and I will begin the domain restoration process along with providing a manual payment. I may be able to restore the domain before it goes into redemption, but I wanted to get confirmation that you are willing to pay for the fee if the domain is indeed in redemption. Please visit the support page link for further instructions:
Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Hi, I feel that this was pretty unfair, I just searched “WordPress” in my Gmail and there was never anything sent about the domain about to expire and they had my card on file for auto renew. Is there any way to waive the domain fee? If not is it possible to get metalarcade.com or something similar?
-
^ I meant is there a way to waive the late fee not the domain fee. Again I have no idea how this happened, especially as they have auto-renewed on my card for years.

Since you have a gmail address, the emails could’ve gone to your social tab if you have that enabled. If you search for your domain in the general inbox search field, you should be to find several emails we sent to you in regarding the upcoming domain expiration.
especially as they have auto-renewed on my card for years.
The card you had on file with us expired on 8/31/2018.
Is there any way to waive the domain fee?
There may not be a fee. I just contacted our registry partner to see if the domain is in redemption or not. Are you wanting to retrieve only if there is not a fee?
-
Hi, it seems my site is up and running again? I’m really confused.
Also, I searched in the general inbox search as you mentioned and there is not a single email from WordPress regarding expiration.
As for the domain, if the fee is waived then I will renew with my updated card info. If not, I will try and just get a similar domain name.

We were able to recover the domain, but the $18 normal renewal fee will need to be paid, or we’ll have to remove it.
I have sent a request for the $18 to the email address on your account.
-
@metalarcade this is a quick reminder that we will need that $18 renewal fee paid, or we’ll remove the domain again.

Hi, sorry there was a major power outage the last two days and I finally got to a place where I have internet. I just saw the link for payment, however it says something about a suspicious link. Should I proceed anyway?
-
Ok I went to the link and paid the 18 dollars, where do I go to update my auto-payment card? So this doesn’t happen again?
-
Thank you for completing the payment.
You can add a new payment method and turn on autorenewal from the Purchases page:
https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/
Also please make sure that your WordPress.com account email at https://wordpress.com/me/account/ is correct, as well as your domain contact email address, as renewal reminders get sent to both of those:

Let us know if we can help with anything else.
