‘My Sites’ never loads

  • Unknown's avatar

My sites never load, I think this might be because I haven’t used my free wordpress account in several years. I have two URLs that I believe should show up under my sites, but I only get a spinning loading icon.

How do I contact wordpress to reactivate them when I cannot find activation codes?
Also when I go to my browser to check out the URLs that I think belong to me there is no active site, but it says that the address is reserved when I try to use that name to create a new site.

My new sites would be free http://name.wordpress.com sites but previously I had privately hosted urls with similar names… I really want to use the names I had before because they are specific to the people I am making websites for!

    Any help is appreciated!

  • Hi there,

WordPress.com sites or accounts are never deactivated, no matter how long you’ve not used them.

Can you please give the exact addresses of the sites in question? The account you’re using to post here does not own any free WordPress.com sites, only six self-hosted sites connected here via Jetpack.

Looking at your account history, this account has never owned any free WordPress.com sites, so the sites you’re looking for were most likely created using a different account.

If a site address is reserved it means that particular address has never been registered before, but that there is a registered WordPress.com username that matches the address. An address that’s reserved like that can only be created by someone logged in as the matching username.
