My tagline won't update in Twitter posts

    Hi

    I updated my tagline 24 hours ago. If I visit my site in a browser, I get the correct tagline in the title bar.

    But if I post a link to my site in Twitter, it’s still showing the previous tagline.

    Is there more than one tagline? Is there something I can do to force it to update in Twitter? Is there a standard delay before the new tagline gets through?

    I’d be grateful for any advice on this.

    The tagline used to be “If I can’t find a simple explanation, I write it myself. Mostly about things related to software engineering.”, but has been changed to “If I can’t find a simple explanation, I write notes for myself. Often about things related to software engineering.”.

    Hi there,

    That info is most likely cached on Twitter’s end. Running the post URL through Twitter’s validator should force that cache to update:

    https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator
