My view: Post date on individual blog posts should be ON by default!
-
Your support folks nicely helped me, a writer not a developer, navigate to where I could add a date stamp below the headline on individual blog posts in the Twenty-Twenty-Five theme.
But I have to wonder – if you were to do, say, a survey, what percentage of bloggers would NOT want that in there by DEFAULT, and not just on the home page visible posts? I daresay most folks would want it ON, and just maybe an easier way to do the change either way! I know…. simple is hard;-)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Not really looking for help, per se – just offering some feedback – valuable I hope – on how the platform works.

Hi @bendbarn
Thanks so much for sharing this and really glad our support team was able to point you in the right direction!
You make a really good point about the default. It’s always a bit of a balancing act, some folks prefer a clean, “timeless” look without dates, while others (especially writers) want that context front and center.
Totally fair to say a lot of people would expect it to just be there by default. And yes, we hear you on making it easier to toggle. Ideally, this kind of thing shouldn’t take much digging at all. It’s definitely something we’re continuing to improve.
Appreciate you taking the time to write this (and the “simple is hard” note–we felt that ). If anything else comes up as you keep using the theme, don’t hesitate to share.
Best,
