my web designer is holding my site hostage

    I own my domain clearcaninecancer.com and my web designer is holding my site hostage. He will not transfer the site to my new designer. The site was created using wordpress. I want to know if I move the site to a new server, either wordpress or another server and forward it to a new domain, clearcaninecancer.org is there a way to keep the hostage holding designer from making changes, like doing a complete reset on the password or something? I can show proof of domain ownership through GoDaddy. Thank you for your help!

    Hi @clearcaninecancer, these forums are for sites hosted by WordPress.com, so our help will be limited. But I can try to point you in the right direction.

    If your site is through GoDaddy, you’ll want to contact them directly for help into your WordPress installation. They can use one of these options if necessary.

    Check the users area in your dashboard, and check the admin email as well to ensure it won’t let them reset. Maybe change your hosting password as well.
