my website is not linked with my account

    I need my wordpress site linked with my account. I had a developer helping me and he created an ew username, not the one I had, to develop my site, then I had to hire someone different and recently had to clear my browser history and now my password is not working, probably forgot it and cannot get any link to a new password for the username that was created… I need my site linked to my actual username. please help this is so stressful and i have no idea about computers. I need to talk to someone now. Please help me. I need to do something on my website this weekend, it is urgent and I cannot access my website.

    Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) and is hosted by Namecheap.

    Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are different, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on WordPress.com.

    You can reach out to your host for help with your site. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and could also be able to help you here.
