My website uses Avada, I cannot edit the content on the website, help?

Hi everyone, I’m an administrator for my unit and from time to time make website edits like posting new events or things we have going on. Our website still appears fine to the public but when I go on the back end to edit, I can’t. I get a white screen with the words “Skip Content” in the upper left-hand corner. Our webite is built off Avada if that helps. I have limited knowledge of website maintence, we don’t have a person to go to for this at the moment. Any help or advice?

A white screen with just ‘Skip Content’ in the corner usually means the WordPress block editor is crashing due to a conflict between your plugins or theme. Because this is an Avada-built site, the most common culprit is that WordPress updated automatically, but your Avada theme or its two mandatory core plugins (Avada Core and Avada Builder) are outdated and conflicting with the new WordPress version. To fix this, you will need to log into your dashboard using Recovery Mode (if WordPress emailed you a recovery link), or temporarily access your site via FTP/Hosting File Manager to rename your theme folder and force WordPress to load. Once you are back in, updating Avada and its bundled plugins to their latest versions should fix the editor crash instantly!
