Mysites

All my sites are not listed in mysites. They all have single login activated and have the same admin login included in the list of users. The only document way of not seeing them listed that I could find would be if the user was different. What else could cause this? Could it be caused by having more than one admin user?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hey there!

Are all of your sites connected to your WordPress.com account through Jetpack? Can you tell me which sites are missing?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes, they are which is why this is so perplexing. Could there be a limit on the number of sites accessible? I have about 50 sites. Some examples of sites not showing: electricityXperts.com, flooringXpert.com, tutorcountry.com, tutormeproud.com, tutoringbyexperts.com, and nightowlelectric.com. Thanks, in advance for any suggestions. – John

I looked up all of the domains you listed. Here’s what I found:

    electricityXperts.com – this URL doesn’t go anywhere.
flooringXpert.com – is connected to a different account.
tutorcountry.com – the domain is configured incorrectly. “Can’t resolve A record”
tutormeproud.com – the domain is configured incorrectly. “Can’t resolve A record”
tutoringbyexperts.com – the domain is configured incorrectly. “Can’t resolve A record”
nightowlelectric.com – is connected to a different account.

For the ones with errors, try plugging the sites in here to troubleshoot the problem:

Let me know if I can help further.

This has been very helpful. Thank you. First, it should have been electricityXpert.com without the “s”. This said, you are right and there is a different account that explains 3 of these url’s. The tutoring accounts are not resolved yet, but since they are the only sites using Better WP Security [has known issues according to the tool you suggested I use] I suspect I have a plugin issue or a theme issue as both are unique to the tutoring sites. Only one of my 10 “tutoring” sites is working so I’m taking another look at it. The clue to fix the others is probably there. Again, thank you for your expertise and helpfulness. I appreciate it. – John

Thank you! 90% or more of my troubles were related to a different account. It would be a helpful feature if JetPack would tell you when you are signed into a closed account. If I try entering jelcik at WordPress.com, which I’m sure is an old account of mine, it says the account is closed. It doesn’t however complain when I enter a website that is displaying as connected with the old account name. Evidence of the connection even includes the modified login screen. It may even be true that the connection exists with the account closed. I don’t know. Anyway, I deactivated and reinstalled the Jetpack plugin and changed from iTheme’s Better WP Security to Wordfence. I’m 100% setup with JetPack now with 55 sites displaying. Thank you Shawna Roberts!

So glad you got this sorted!

It looks like the username jelcik was changed, but Jetpack didn’t reflect that change. There is still an active account behind jelcik, but you can’t login with that username anymore. I’ll definitely mention this to the Jetpack team.

    Happy new year!
