Namesevers and DNS records

My website, dallasfrg.com, is currently down because of my nameservers and DNS records. I’m getting this message when I’m in the Domain Management window….

“Your nameservers need to be set to NS1.WORDPRESS.COM and NS2.WORDPRESS.COM for these DNS records to work.”

I thought my domain provider was wordpress which is also my registrar?

I bought the domain from vistaprint several months ago and mapped it to my website.

What do I need to do to get my website up?

Thanks for helping me try to wrap my head around all this!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • dallasfrg.com is just mapped to WordPress.com, it is not registered here. You will need to log into your account at your registrar to set your nameservers. Your registrar’s customer support team should be able to help you out if you do not know how to do it yourself.

I would love to be more help, but WordPress.com staff only have access to domains that are registered here at WordPress.com

So, our registrar used to be Vistaprint, but we bought the domain from them. I thought when we bought it, we then registered it with WordPress. Is that possible? If it’s not registered, how do I go about doing that?

  • WordPress.com cannot accept incoming domain registration transfers. So if your domain was registered with vistaprint, they would still be your registrar. A good next step might be to contact their customer support team.
