Naming My Blog

  Hello
  I have just created a blog for my website American in England and wanted to use the same name for my blog.
  It told me it was already in use so I placed a blog in front of American in England.
  I would prefer not to use the blog in front of the address.
  Can you please assist?

  As you noted that blog URL aleready exists. http://americaninengland.wordpress.com/ There cannot be two blogs with the same URL. Unless you contact the blogger who owns that URL and they agree to transfer the blog to your username account there is no way to acquire it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account Note: Staff will not breach the privacy poilcy and provide the email address for the blogger who owns the URL to you.

  Simple – map your blog here as a subdomain of your regular site – so you would have something like:

  blog.americaninengland.com

  This also helps search engines as everything is now under one top level domain name so your web site is bigger –

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-subdomain/
