Need a “reviewer” user role

    I have the following scenario: I wish to have another user be able to “review” drafts of posts before they are published — that is, to be able to read the drafts (and maybe edit them for spelling, etc., although that’s not necessary and may not be desired).

    Trouble is, the current set of user roles provided don’t cover this scenario. The “editor” user role comes closest, however, it gives too much power — like being able to edit/delete all posts, comments, etc.

    I just want the reviewer to be able to make a quick pass over my drafts before they are published — so that said user can make private remarks to me about any issues they find with the posts, such as misstated facts, unclear sentences, etc.

    Would it be difficult to add such a user role? Any thoughts as to whether there is the possibility of this? BTW: Any remarks said reviewer has would be communicated to me outside the realm of wordpress. I simply need the ability for them to see drafts before they are published.
