Need blog post in edit view to match what shows up on website

I wrote a blog post under the Posts tab and it is formatted one way when I view it (pictures are in a grid and there are bullet points throughout the text) but when I linked it to my home page it re formats (pictures are much larger and stacked on top of each other and the bullet points disappeared). Why is this and how can I make them match?
I’ll explain how I did it so you can please correct me if I did it wrong:
1. Went to Pages tab
2. Clicked on ‘Home’ page
3. Added ‘Latest Posts’ in blockI did some research and apparently the default setting is for the most recent post to appear on the homepage but that is not the case for me so it somehow wasn’t default or I somehow accidentally changed that setting. Please help!

Thank you so much for responding! I actually called Bluehost today and was able to resolve the issue mentioned above. I actually have two new questions if you don’t mind answering: My URL is daisiesanddoodles.com
1. My home page does not display comments at the bottom of the post. But when I click on the post under “Recent Posts” on the right side bar it shows the comments at the bottom. I want the comments to show up in both places. How do I make this happen?
2. On each page my background color is yellow and there is a white box around my text and pictures. I want to fade the white and make it not as bright. Is this possible? -
Oh! If the site is at Bluehost, you’ll actually want to post at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ instead. These forums are actually for the sites hosted here at WordPress.com. Our setup is a bit different:
– Most themes won’t display comments on pages that list posts, but your theme support may have an option for that.
– I’m sure it’s possible to change colors; I’d check in with your theme support or post in the correct forum for help.
