Need for users to log in.

My site has almost 100 pages. To save complexity I have, mainly, limited the menu to two levels. Other pages are accessed though links on the first or second level menu pages. However, while navigation though the menu is straightforward, using a link on any of those pages, attracts a requirement to log in to WordPress. Is this usual? Is there any way round it except to extend the menu?

Hi there!
That is because the links you have added there are private links to your editor. You’ll want to replace those with public links to your site.
Whenever you open a page in the editor, instead of copying the address from the browser navigation bar, you’ll want to check the Permalink section on the right sidebar:
I hope that helps!

Good luck! And note you should also be able to add pages without having to copy and paste their address. You should be able to search to add new links.
Also, if your menu is very complex, you might consider managing it here:
https://johnmouldenonirishsongs.wordpress.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.phpOr, give it a try and see if that’s easier for you to manage. If not, the Customize menu builder will work, too. I just wanted you to know of the other option.
Also, as you build out a complex menu with dropdowns, be sure to consider whether mobile users will be able to easily access sub pages. If needed, you may consider linking the pages together in other ways as well (so on the parent page, include text links to the sub pages for example). Site indexes are an option, too.
Let us know if you need help!
