Need help removing a duplicate blog linked to my account please.
-
I started out with a self-hosted wordpress site: blog.lyonsden.net. Then I wanted Videopress so I had to create a new wordpress.com account talltechguy.wordpress.com and I also installed jetpack on my self-hosted site and linked the two. So far so good.
But then I realised how slick and easy wordpress.com was so I switched over completely and brought my old domain over too so now my wordpress.com blog is blog.lyonsden.net.
My problem is that I now have two Lyonsden Blog’s listed under my username which is pretty confusing. Can you please get rid of the old one so I just have my wordpress.com account listed there?
Hoep that makes sense?
Thanks.

Hi there – I removed the old self-hosted site from your user account. If you need anything else, just let me know!

Hi again,
I’ve no idea why but the old self-hosted domain has re-appeared and I’ve got two blogs again under my username???
Can you work your magic again please? Hope it’s not something I’ve done?
Thanks

I did install jetpack on the old site and linked it to the wordpress.com account I wish to keep yes. But I’ve not accessed that site at all since I’ve moved my domain across – in fact I can’t as the domain points to my wordpress.com account now.

Ok, as long as Jetpack is still active on the blog installation, it will continue to connect to your WordPress.com account.
Would you please remove it? Then I’ll remove the listing from your account again.

Ah, that does make sense… OK I’ve used my hosting company’s “file manager” control panel to delete all the files from my old wordpress site so hopefully it should be gone now?
Thanks.

Ok, that should work, so I have removed the blog from your account again.
Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

OK, my old wordpress site was obliterated a few days ago now and yet today, once again, I have 2 blogs linked to my account!
Really don’t understand how/why this keeps happening now and I’m feeling like a bit of a nuisance constantly posting about it here.
Is there something that can be done to kill it once and for all please?
Thanks again.

Ok, I tried one more thing. Hopefully it’s gone now. If not, it could be thinking it still exists because of the domain mapping.
