Need help to migrate wordpress.org site to wordpress.com businss hosting plan

    Hello,

    How can you help me to migrate the wordprss site with 2 separate installations to merge in one wordpress.com site with all post and pages in one wordpress.com site.

    I would like to take the business hosting plan and use wordpress.com going ahead.

    The thing to note here is that because you’re merging two sites into one, you’ll need to decide which design you want to carry over. So, if you’re using a plugin like this one to import the site, you’ll want to choose one site and import that first.

    For the second site, you can download an export from that site’s wp-admin dashboard → Tools → Export and upload that following the instructions here: https://wordpress.com/support/import/

    Even then, it’s possible that some content may not be imported because when the importer runs, it skips any post ID and page ID that already exists on the site. When you’re importing an entire site into an empty one, it’s not a problem. But since you’re merging content from two different sites, it’s possible that some content may get skipped.

    Depending on the number of pages and posts you have, you may need to manually check to ensure everything got imported. If not, some content may need to be manually copied from the old site and published to the new one.
