Need help with email set up after domain mapping
-
I am in desperate help right now. I had created my portfolio website on Fatcow.com, hosted it, and have an email with my domain. Created the wordpress.com site and did domain mapping so that I could use the domain name and email but have it on WordPress.com (due to me wanting to get the site up as quickly as possible). Of course when I did that, email has been out of commission all day. It is my main email I am using for employers right now so I need to get that back up and running as soon as possible.
The only drawback is….I have tried the “tutorials” through wordpress.com and fatcow. I have even called Fatcow but they don’t know how to connect it through WordPress.com. All I need is for someone to give me insight or basically tell me what I need to put in to get this back up and running.
Please help and thank you for reading this. I appreciate it

Hi Patrick, I found this support page in the Fatcow FAQ:
http://www.fatcow.com/knowledgebase/read_article.bml?kbid=1777
Based on this information, you could try adding these entries and see if they work:
MX 10 mx1.alfesdesigns.com. MX 20 mx2.alfesdesigns.com. A mx1 65.254.254.50 A mx2 65.254.254.51Let me know how it goes.

Thank you for the help! I typed that in early this morning….BUT…it’s not working. Now I may need to wait, but I know that last night when I had it
as : MX 30 mx.fatcow.com It worked.BUT I was told on the phone from Fatcow that all I needed was an IP address for the “a” address? Like I said, this is all uncharted waters for me so I have no idea what is right….

We can help you format them, but Fatcow should ideally be able to provide you with the particular records you need, since these records are specific to each email provider.
If MX 30 mx.fatcow.com was working before, did you want to reset it to that?
