    Hello, how do I get my IP address for an A record?

    Hi there,

    Are you trying to connect a domain you own at another provider to your WordPress.com site? You’ll need more than an IP address to do that.

    To use a domain you already own with a WordPress.com site requires our Personal Plan or higher. Then you can connect the domain here using our domain mapping upgrade.

    For the best results we recommend you point the domain to us by updating your name servers at your domain provider. If you have existing DNS records with them for an email account, etc, you’ll be able to add those to your domain here once you add the mapping, so services that rely on those records will continue working.
