need my deleted blog name back

  Hello,
  I have, without completely understanding all the consequences, deleted a blog, with the intention to start it from scratch – however now I see I can not use the same name.
  It is rather unfortunate since it was the name of my newborn and it is unique and precious to me.
  Now I am not asking for much… just that I would be able to use the name that I myself have used before again.
  There must be a way.

  I don’t understand why the can’t/won’t restore to the original owner if it can be verified, but that’s the policy and despite frequent threads on this, I’ve never seen them alter the position.
