need someone from wordpress to remove a defunct account

    I am chairman of a club which has its own domain now swindonrcmodelcarclub.com but a google search also brings up swindonrcmodelcarclub.wordpress.com

    This wordpress site is not defunct but its existence detracts from our new domain so I need to get it taken down.

    Hi there, the only person who can close or delete that site is the person who originally registered the site here on WPcom or the person who currently owns it. WPcom will not remove a site (even a defunct one) at another user’s request unless it violates our Terms of Service. https://wordpress.com/tos/

    Try contacting the people mentioned on the WPcom site to see who that person might be. If you can find the owner information, the person can log in and delete the site or make it Private following this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

    Keep in mind too that this WPcom site hasn’t been updated in yonks. Once you start regularly posting and updating your new site, the old site will eventually drop down in search engine returns.
