need to access my old domain name version of website to copy content over to new domain name

I need to access my old domain name version of website to copy content over to new domain name. The problem is I did not know what I was doing and followed some bad advice from the internet that is was just a simple matter of changing the settings for the Url in the old domain site to the new name. Now when I try to log into the wp-admin section of the old domain name It directs me to the new domain dashboard etc. Can I still access the older files? I had a copy of the version of the old website from when it was transferred from .dev to .com but I had done quite a bit of work since that version.

What is the URL of the site you need to access? Let me know and I’ll look into it for you.

    Thanks!

    Hi gemmacevans,
I have resolved the issue by accessing the wpconfig files in the ftp via file zilla. Thank you for your offer to look into this!

It sounds like you have a self hosted WordPress.org site. If you need anything else, these forums are a great place to get help:

I’m glad to hear you’ve got it sorted now though :)
