Need to cancel a domain and remove site completely

  • Unknown's avatar

I am attempting to remove ‘bodyblingtans.com’ site. I’ve tried using the ‘Delete site permanently’ link. But it comes back with a message about needing to remove my ‘premium upgrades’ first. When I go look to see what ‘premium upgrades’ are present, there are none listed. Regardless, the site needs to go away.

I received an email tonight from Paypal showing that WordPress sent a ‘pre-authorization’ through on my account for $13.00. I did not authorize anyone to automatically charge anything on my Paypal acount and will refute the charge, should it ever actiually come through. So consider this a formal request to A) remove the site in question and B) reverse and/or remove any charges against my paypal account (which is registered using the email address ‘(email visible only to moderators and staff)’).

If you have further questions please contact me via the same gmail account as above.

    Thank you!

    Regards,

    David Tucker

PLEASE DISREGARD THIS TOPIC COMPLETELY as it was a post written specifically for delivery to –and only to- someone on a support team who might have the access to actually delete the site in question.

This message was supposed to be sent to support instead of to a forum. Also, the system incorrectly added the line at the bottom which states “The blog I need help with is http://www.n5zdtcom.” That is completely wrong. The site that needs removal is “bodyblingtans.com”, NOT “n5zdt.com”.

    Hi David,

When I go look to see what ‘premium upgrades’ are present, there are none listed.

The upgrades for bodyblingtans.com are owned by bodybling2014 — please login to that account and reply here. Once you’ve done so, I’ll be happy to help.

    Thanks!

    Hi gemmacevans,

I originally set this up for my friend Holly ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) and registered the additional domain name so she could further her spraytan business. As she never really decided to participate due to personal and family problems and a relocation to another city, the site has basically been unused.

I don’t care whether the site stays up or not, but I will not be responsible for any charges going against my paypal account which is addressed as “(email visible only to moderators and staff)” –my own address/login. I’ve removed the domain name and have no intention of renewing it as I’ve not heard from her in over two years. Therefore as the password that I setup 2-3 years ago is seemingly no longer working for the bodybling2014 account, I am unable to “turn off” the “premium upgrade” (being the domain name addition) that is keeping me from removing my billing info from the account or removing the account entirely.
As I mentioned, it isn’t account removal that I care about so much. It’s the charges to my own paypal account which I will no longer approve and which I will refute if any charges are made against it. I noticed that Paypal shows WordPress’s intention of billing a “Preapproved” invoice amount. So let this be written notice that WordPress has no preapproval of any sort to bill my paypal account for any charges whatsoever for anything having to do with bodyblingtans, bodybling2014, or any other “body” or “bling” related site expense, domain expense, or other expense.

Thanks for your assistance in this matter. I’ve been unable to reach Holly since her last move. Removing MY billing info from the bodybling site will handle the issue and leave the site there in case she wishes to do something with it in the future.

    Hi David,

We’ve looked into this further and our system shows you have already disabled the billing agreement in PayPal — this means you won’t be charged for the upgrade again.
bodybling2014 will now need to add their payment details in order for the upgrade to renew in the future as there are no active payments methods on the account.

As I mentioned, it isn’t account removal that I care about so much.

Just so you are aware, a WordPress.com site can only be deleted by the owner. bodybling2014 will need to delete the site from their account.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Hi gemmacevans,
How do I get a refund issued for the $13.00 that was charged to my PayPal account by WordPress for this? PayPal shows the charge as actual instead of pending. So the charge did get applied and PayPal of course deducted it from my bank account.

    Thanks!
    David

    Hi David,

It appears the payment may have gone through just before you cancelled the billing agreement. However, I’ve refunded the $13 and you won’t be charged for future renewals.

Refunds usually take 7-14 business days to process and show on your account.

    Thanks!
