Need to change site owner
-
Hi, looking for some help in regards to transferring site ownership when you no longer have access to the original site owner. My department is looking to change our payment plan but we are unable to do so because neither myself nor my coworker was the site originator/main admin. My department’s previous site owner no longer works with the University and we do not have access to her for communications. Can anyone advise on next steps? Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

So, the easiest way to do this is to regain access to site owner’s account.
The site belongs to a university email address. Asking your University’s IT department about access to that would be a good place to start.

Thanks for your quick response. 90% sure the University IT’s team wouldn’t have access to her account information due to how long she hasn’t been associated with the University. If IT is unable to pull up any information, would the only other option be to delete the entire site?

We have some additional options at https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form

At this point, we would just like to delete the blog since we are unable to change the payment options or establish ownership based on the info above. If I am an admin can I delete the blog? Or does deleting the blog require ownership?

Only the owner can delete the site.
Please send an email to passwordhelp@wordpress.com explaining the situation, and we’ll see if there’s anything we can do for you.
